Simultaneous Contrast
Simultaneous Contrast is out starting 6/27/25 on Sawyer Editions
From Sawyer Editions:
This portrait album of 5 works and plots a sprawling journey through New York City-based composer Lila Meretzky’s catalogue. Quartet for strings and percussion draws on exercises by Josef Albers to explore color relativity. On Chaconne, Ji Hye Jung gives a plaintive marimba performance. Don’t look for me where birds sing, for solo percussion and electronics, honors Bertha Kula, a young immigrant who died in the 1911 Triangle Factory Fire. For Linda Catlin Smith, performed by Unheard-of//Ensemble, pays tribute to a key influence. The album ends with To crave and to have, a study in luminous color for string orchestra. These works reflect the tension of opposing forces and evoke shifting perception over time.

Bone Dice
Bone Dice is out starting on 1/31/25 on Area X Records!
The album features the wizardry of Sandbox Percussion on the title track, a stark and wintery 25-minute quartet of chiming bells, skittering hi-hats, and booming thundersheet. Rounding things off is the jovial digestif Lunch, in which Madeline Dethloff and Nupur Thakkar duke it out on marimba and vibraphone.
